"Things Fall Apart": Chinua Achebe and the languages of African literature
10/30/20
A book called “Things Fall Apart” written by a Nigerian, depicted Colonization from an African viewpoint which began with a book that showed what Colonization really did to African peoples history and how they still say words of their own.
I feel that “Things Fall Apart” was a good way for the author to expose the Colonization in the book and it let out the truth about Colonization. The author included what a white commissioner said that was used to expose Colonization. The white man said that he hates Africans for speaking in their own language. After the book was made published, it sparked debates if it should be a literature book for Africans or for whites. The book was then published in over 50 languages.
What if this book was never made? What would happen next?
If this book was never made, somethings might have gone unreported or it would have taken a lot longer to expose them
ReplyDeleteIf this book was never made then some of the things that happened to them would not have been exposed to the public and we would not know how bad the whites were to Africans.
ReplyDeleteIf this book was never created, many people would have not been aware of this history therefore possibly leading people to judge or even repeat history. People would not fully understand the reasoning behind certain things.
