Dear "principle", I am a freshman at Hinsdale Central high school and I believe that school breaks should be further centered around religious holidays. Many holiday's including Christian holidays are very important for the students and should be greatly respected. With this being said I am arguing that religious holiday's are not taken into consideration as much as they should be in schools. I believe that holiday breaks should be more focused around Religious Holidays that students have and celebrate.
Christianity is the biggest religious in the world and has many holidays revolving around Jesus including, Christmas, Easter, lent and more. All of these holidays are very important to the Christian community and religion, which is why they should be greatly considered into school breaks. According to Christianity for Kids Christmas is extremely important because it marks the start of the savior Jesus Christs life. This than translates to the most important Christian Holiday, Easter. Christianity for Kids also states how Good Friday marks the day Jesus dies on the cross for our sins and Easter Sunday marks the day when he resurrects from the dead. Lent is a 40 day period leading to Easter where Christians reflect and change.
As you see above all of these holidays mark extremely important events in the Christian religion. I suggest that you should focus a day or day's off depending on how important the holiday is for these religions. By doing this there would be more respect for the religion, and it would let students celebrate there religions with family.
