Religion-Friendly Attire for Companies

Companies need to start including more religion-friendly attire in their dress code requirements. Having a more open and religion-friendly dress code shows respect to all religions and all people who practice those religions. Two forms of attire worn by people who practice Judaism that should be included and accepted in company handbooks are tallits and Kippahs.

A tallit is the first form of attire that should be allowed in the employee dress code to respect the Jewish religion. According to the source titled "Information on the Jewish Religion",  a tallit is a prayer shawl. It is most worn during time of prayer and worship. On a tallit there are fringes, which symbolize the commandments of the Torah. People can wear these to remind themselves of those commandments and stay faithful to their religion. This is a very important part of Judaism, and in order to show respect, companies need to include Tallits in their dress code hand books for Jews who want to wear them.

A kippah is another form of attire that should be accepted into company handbooks for the employees. According to the source titled "What is a Kippah", a Kippah is a symbol of Jewish respect for God. People who wear these will be reminded that God is above them, and should be respected. This is a very important part of Judaism, and in order to show respect, companies need to include Kippahs in their dress code hand books for Jews who want to wear them.
