Many schools and companies give students the day off or a shortened day on Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter. Christmas and Easter have become holidays not just for Christians but for Americans as well. It’s still important to acknowledge other religions’ holidays and respect their religions as well.
Students and employees should still get these holidays off because Christmas and Easter are very holy holidays. Christmas is the day when we rejoice in Jesus’ birth. According to the BBC, many Christians celebrate the holiday by attending special masses. Easter is considered the highest holiday, and some Christians argue it is the biggest feast during the liturgical year.BBC tells us that Easter Sunday is the day that Christians commemorate Jesus’ resurrection from his crucifixion. These are just some of the traditions and important "rituals" celebrated during these holidays.
In conclusion, Christians’ holidays should be acknowledged with their religion, not just as an American holiday. It is imperative to respect others' religions and traditions, even if we do not recognize them as our own.
